Let’s face it, lots of us don't know where Mott Haven is, but recently we have noticed some new listings come up in the area. These apartments have been fully gutted and renovated with condo style finishes. So clearly, we see a lot of investors have started investing in this neighborhood. Since 2005, local news outlets have tapped Mott Haven as the next Williamsburg, Dumbo, or Fort Greene. For those who don't know where Mott Haven is, it's in the South Bronx. It’s actually the first stop in The Bronx on the 6 train, literally- you can be on 86th street in 12 minutes! For those who are looking to rent or buy in this neighborhood, it is still astoundingly affordable compared to nearby Inwood, Washington Heights or even Harlem apartments. In the past few years, new restaurants, lots of small businesses, breweries, and bars have opened at a fast clip.
There’s the Thai restaurant Ceetay, that has the famous, unique, dish Maple and Eggplant Beef. The Mott Haven Bar and Grill is the spot for beer and burgers, Annie’s “Dream” Cuisine, Delfini Restaurant and so many other businesses have recently opened in that pocket around East 138th.
Culturally, you might find a lot of interesting events taking place thru the year at BronxTrolley.com. Also don't forget the row of antique shops, a collection of six stores on Bruckner Boulevard between Willis Avenue and Alexander Avenue. For the sunny days, you can enjoy the 35 acres available for your leisure at St. Mary’s Park– featuring an indoor pool and running track.
If you are a renter or a buyer, let us take you on a tour- you won’t be disappointed with what you see! You might think you are in Fort Green or Williamsburg from a few years ago, and for those of you who were always scared to try- I’d like to tell you that I'm on the hunt to find my own nest in this beautiful historic Haven. See you there!
